Firms Assemble "ISDN Solution"

Tribe Computer Works and Motorola's Digital Transmission Products Group announced the Small Business ISDN Solution, a cost-effective way for small- to medium-sized organizations to utilize ISDN for remote computing and Internet access.
The solution includes a TribeLink2 IP router and remote access server as well as the Motorola BitSURFR Pro ISDN modem. TribeLink2 offers two high-speed WAN ports; each can be flexibly configured for either dial-in access or LAN-to-LAN connections.
Tribe's WebManage allows the administrator to configure and manage the device using a World Wide Web browser interface. WebManage also contains links to an online context-sensitive manual and to technical support.
BitSURFR integrates an NT1, usually an expensive add-on, plus "in-the-box" ordering codes that let one tell a local telephone company exactly how to set up the ISDN line. The modem connects to a Basic Rate Interface (BRI) ISDN line and supports custom calling services such as caller ID, call forwarding and call waiting.
