Three Keypads Suit Notebook Computers

Genovation has introduced three new members of its growing family of universal keypads for portable computers ¬ the Micropad 627 and the AddPoint 628 and 629.

The Micropad 627 offers 21 keys, three of which can be assigned as Windows 95 special access keys. The keypad interfaces to a PC via the serial port; a pass-through serial interface allows a second device such as a mouse to connect to the same port.

Included with the Micropad 627 is GenCalc, a pop-up 10-key adding machine program that enables off-line calculations onscreen. Results are transferred directly into any cell or cursor location in the application.

The AddPoint 628 (PC) and 629 (Apple) combine the popular GlidePoint touchpad with a 17-key micropad in one unit. Users can control the computer cursor and perform high-speed numeric input. When closed, AddPoint's keys and touchpad are protected by the top cover. Genovation, Inc., Irvine, CA, (800) 822-4333.
