The BBN Internet Server is a fully integrated, turnkey system that arrives preconfigured for plug-and-play operation of Web, e-mail, news groups and file retrieval services. Together with BBN's improved FrontDoor graphical user interface (version 1.2), the BBN Internet Server blends the power of a UNIX operating system with point-and-click simplicity. Users are expected to administer the server remotely. BBN Internet Server software has been upgraded to Version 1.2 with enhanced status and statistics reporting, simplified management of news groups and news feeds, better security functions, etc. BBN is utilizing Dell's Pentium-based computers as the servers' platform, which will be preconfigured before shipping to customers.
