America Online subscribers can now access Merriam-Webster's Medical Dictionary via the Reference Desk or Health Channel, or by entering keyword: MEDICAL DICTIONARY. Recently updated to reflect the latest changes and additions in this field, this resource contains 35,000 entries, including medical abbreviations, prefixes and suffixes, examples of words used in context, and helpful cross-references. It also features variant spellings as well as brand names for drugs and their generic equivalents. Besides the Medical Dictionary, visitors to Mirriam-Webster's area on AOL can find their Collegiate Dictionary, Collegiate Thesaurus, Word Histories and Kids Dictionary.
