Handheld Organizer Links to Desktop PC

The Pilot family of handheld electronic organizers is designed to meet the needs of people who want to manage their activities both remotely and on their desktop computers. The unit connects to any Macintosh or Windows PC via a docking cradle and cable. Weighing 5.7 ounces (including batteries), the Pilot conveniently stores addresses, phone and fax numbers, e-mail addresses and personal notes. The Date Book lets one instantly see the day's agenda or scan for open time slots during the week. Graffiti software accurately recognizes characters drawn with the stylus, or an onscreen keyboard is available. Users also can enter data on their PC, then transfer it by pressing the Pilot's HotSync button. Any entry may be pulled up by performing a keyword Find. Each Pilot ships with personal information management (PIM) software. It also supports popular PIMs, like IntelliLink's DataSync, Microsoft Schedule+, Now Up-to-Date and Starfish' SideKick. Two models are available. The Pilot 1000 (SRP of $299) stores about 500 addresses, one year of appointments, 100 to-do notes and 50 memos.
