As part of the A+America Free Technology for Schools Program, 80 corporate sponsors have agreed to donate a percentage of consumers' total purchases to their school of choice. First, pre-paid certificates allow schools to earn "A+ points" on everyday purchases such as groceries, gas, movie tickets and flowers. In addition, receipts from over two dozen sponsors can be redeemed for as much as 10% of the total. Finally, several service companies offer automatic monthly credits to schools; Sprint, for example, will give points based on the amount of long distance calls placed by customers. As a result, educators can acquire software, computers, printers, TVs, VCRs and more without stretching their budgets. To enroll in the program, call (800) 256-9469.
