Indiana Officials Approve Social Science Package

The Indiana State Board of Education has approved for adoption Decision Development Corp.ís Social Science 2000, a technology-based curriculum for grades K-8. The package comprises videodiscs, online software simulations, trade books and maps.

Available for both Macintosh and Windows PCs, the software includes full authoring capabilities for students and teachers. In accordance with state frameworks, Social Science 2000 emphasizes problem-solving skills, offers open-ended assessments and crosses curricular boundaries.

To date, over a dozen states have adopted DDC products. Other titles for K-8 instruction are Math 2000, Science 2000 and Ancient World 2000. Decision Development Corp., San Ramon, CA, (800) 835-4332, www.ddc2000.com.
