Education Finds an Efficient Friend in SAP

Several higher education institutions have selected the SAP solution from SAP Public Sector and Education, Inc. to manage budgets, track student and employee records and streamline campus operations. Each institution selected the SAP solution to meet operational needs efficiently and improve the quality of education.

For example, the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) uses a complete SAP solution including core applications such as financials, controlling, materials management and plant maintenance as well funds management, inventory management, SAP Human Resources (SAP HR) and the SAP Business Information Warehouse (SAP BW). Last year, UAMS undertook a strategic business-planning process that resulted in the decision to implement an inter-enterprise solution.

The University of Tennessee also selected SAP to help them with finance and HR applications. Additionally, the University will implement the SAP BW specifically designed for decision support needs. SAP BW includes a broad range of predefined reporting templates geared to the specific needs of particular industries and user types. The University of Mississippi selected its SAP solution to integrate campus business processes, with the intention to be fully productive with the inter-enterprise solution to automate campus processes by the summer of 2000. Enterprise-wide software solutions help educational organizations establish effective long-term planning, easily update programs, quickly meet objectives and accurately track progress.
