Virtual Expeditions with National Geographic

The gateway to all of National Geographic’s rich education resources can be found at www.nationalgeographic.com/education, a tool for teachers and their students to link to interactive adventures, virtual expeditions, and printable maps. A user-friendly search engine allows teachers to quickly access resources such as lesson plans, software, and reading materials. The search engine sorts the Society’s classroom tools by subject, grade level and type of resource. The free site’s diverse resources include a comprehensive online atlas, virtual explorations with firsthand accounts from naturalists and scientists, a Teacher Community for online idea exchange and event listings, hundreds of classroom ideas, and links to Web sites to aid research in all classroom subjects.
