Assistance with Reading and Math Comes Right to Your Home

For students who require extra practice with reading or math, Summit@Home is a service delivering computer-based learning activities and curriculum components over the Internet. Reading modules cover word skills, research skills, reading, and writing strategies, and they let students practice reading informational passages from standardized tests. The math modules cover whole numbers, measurement, fractions, decimals, percentages, ratios, geometry, statistics and probability, and algebraic ideas. Students are given a CD-ROM to work with, and student data is stored on secure servers. The program is accessible even from 14.4K modems.

The Summit@Home program can be taken on independently of schoolwork, or can supplement Summit's school programs. Starting June 15, Summit will offer a one-month free trial of its home service. After the trial period, pricing will be $9.95 per month or $69.95 for a full year. The Denali Project, Okemos, MI, (517) 347-3273, www.denaliproject.com.
