Program Helps with Curriculum Preparation

Created by and for educators, the Teaching Essentials line of teacher tools lets teachers use computers at home or in school to prepare student materials. Thirteen easy-to-use products help teachers create curriculum materials for every grade level, such as flash cards, worksheets, puzzles and quizzes. Many products include content such as word lists and sample puzzles, in addition to standard authoring features.

Also from Teaching Essentials, Essential Test Prep offers an innovative alternative to standardized test preparation. Using this program, teachers print out skills-based practice tests that mimic the real thing. Students prepare for standardized tests using paper and pencils, and practice from a database of 1,000 multiple choice and performance test questions per grade. Teachers can also add their own items to the practice tests. All content is correlated to NCTM, NCTE and national and state standards, and is aligned to ITBS, SAT-9, CTBS/Terra Nova, TAAS, FCAT, and other standardized and state tests. Each product also assesses and tracks student skill development.

Each title is delivered in the form of a hybrid CD-ROM and includes a straightforward user's guide. Most Teaching Essentials products include a dictionary and spell checker. Teaching Essentials Corp., Gainesville, FL, (352) 375-1902, www.teachingessentials.com.
