A Bridge Over Troubled Infrastructures

Wi-LAN introduces the AWE 120-58, a new 12 Mbps advanced wireless Ethernet bridge for use in the 5.8 GHz unlicensed frequency band. The company is also announcing its AWE 120-24, a 12 Mbps advanced wireless Ethernet bridge that operates in the 2.4 GHz unlicensed frequency band. Both products support point-to-multipoint, point-to-point and backhaul applications.

The bridges can be used to build and extend communication infrastructures. Unlike ordinary bridges that provide basic data transfer, Wi-LAN's advanced wireless Ethernet bridges offer enhanced functionality with "smart" features, improving data and network management capabilities. They're built with the company's patented Multi-code Direct Sequence Spread Spectrum (MC-DSSS) technology, which supports constant service over distance through increased data rates, enhanced reliability and cost-effective performance.
