Wild Republic Expands Environmental Program Online

The updated 2001-2002 version of the Wild Republic Learning Adventure program is now available at www.wildrepublic.com/ lessonplans. In addition to existing lesson plans on primates, habitats and rainforests, this latest update includes free lesson plans and other activities on amphibians, reptiles and the tiniest primates of the rainforests. Elementary teachers can download classroom activities, extension ideas and background information for free.

Wild Republic developed this program last year, in conjunction with teachers, to enrich students' knowledge and understanding of the world and its inhabitants by focusing on the study of primates and their natural habitats. The success of last year's program has prompted Wild Republic to create this second series. The kit includes a teacher's guide, worksheets, a Web site guide, extension ideas and online activities. The program has three major objectives: help students better understand primates, gain an appreciation for animals' natural habitats and think globally by learning about the rain forests.
