Harcourt Launches Online Assessment System; N.Y. Offered Free Diagnostic Reading Test

Harcourt Interactive Technology has launched iloli (iLearningOnline), a classroom-based, online instructional reading assessment system aligned to state standards that provides instant feedback and immediate test results to students, teachers and parents. The program allows teachers in grades 2-10 to measure the effectiveness of their instruction and student learning. It also gives students practice opportunities and teachers the ability to measure student performance prior to state tests. iloli provides teachers with an effective reading diagnostic tool to lead their students toward reading comprehension proficiency and testing success. Teachers also can use the system to provide additional work at home. Its ease of use and diagnostic capabilities allow parents to understand where their child needs help in reading, and gives teachers the power to provide instruction simply and quickly. For more information, visit www.iloli.com.

In addition, Harcourt is now offering a public service program that invites New York eighth-graders to take a free online test. The test assesses student performance aligned to the New York reading standards prior to the January state reading exam. The iloli system will immediately score the 40-question diagnostic test and produce printable reading comprehension test reports. New York students, teachers and parents can access the free test at www.iloli.com through Jan. 31.
