CyberSurfari Teaches Internet Safety, Navigation

If your students are Web savvy, diligent and good treasure hunters, then CyberSurfari: An Internet Treasure Hunt (www.cybersurfari.org) may be the perfect game for them. The site presents K-12 students with free, ready-made educational Web scavenger hunts that offer several levels of play designed to teach students how to use the Internet safely. Clues for the online scavenger hunts are written as riddles, which students must solve to find educational Web sites and resources. The program helps increase students' reading proficiency and Web navigation skills. In addition, the scavenger hunts can be played in teams or individually.
