ADOBE (www.adobe.com) has released new versions of Photoshop Elements and Premiere Elements for Windows users, which are now available individually or together in one package. Photoshop Elements 4.0 provides a simple way for Adobe Photoshop/Premiere Elementsstudents to enhance, organize, and display their digital photos in creative and entertaining ways, such as via slideshows. The updated version offers tools for users at all skill levels, including one-click fixes, as well as more advanced editing tools such as the new Magic Selection Brush (for making adjustments to a specific part of a photo), and the Magic Extractor (which easily removes subjects from photos). Premiere Elements 2.0 is Adobe’s complete home-video editing solution that lets users produce videos with Hollywood-style effects and professional Dolby sound. Students can transfer footage by FireWire or USB2 from any digital video device, experiment with hundreds of professional transitions and effects, and burn videos to DVD. In addition, the package includes a Teacher Resource Center CD with lessons, tutorials, and tips to help teachers engage students. Pricing: $69 each, $119 for the package.
