INSTRUCTIONAL TECHNOLOGY PROGRAM FOR ADMINISTRATORS

An 18-credit online graduate certificate program in School Administration and Supervision will be made available to school administrators this fall through Johns Hopkins University (education.jhu.edu/iste-admin), in collaboration with the International Society for Technology in Education (www.iste.org). The yearlong program will emphasize the use of instructional technology in equipping educators with strategies to improve student achievement. Participants must have three years of teaching experience and a master’s degree. The program will be offered in a format developed by the university’s Center for Technology in Education. It combines five eight-week courses, a customized internship, and two meetings at the annual National Educational Computing Conference, held this year in San Diego, July 5-7 (center.uoregon.edu/ISTE/NECC2006). After completing the program, participants are prepared to meet the standards of the Interstate School Leaders Licensure Consortium (www.ccsso.org/content/pdfs/isllcstd.pdf).
