TOSHIBA has rolledout TLP-WX2200U. Thenew widescreen projectoris an LCD model with a native WXGA (1,280 x 800) resolution, abrightness of 2,200 lumens, and a contrast ratio of 600:1. The portable(6.2 pounds) three-panel unit is targeted toward educators and presentationprofessionals. For security, the TLP-WX2200U includes a removable,password-protected control panel. Once removed, the projector is renderedinoperable. Other features include color enhancement via color-correction circuitry, automatic setup, digital zoom, instant power shutdown,and HDTV compatibility. The device can also switch between its native 16:10 aspect ratio and the old 4:3 standard aspectratio. Price: $999 (estimated).
