Mississippi District Pursues Energy Efficiency with New Measures
Choctaw County Schools of Ackerman, MS, is implementing several measures to improve safety, comfort and energy efficiency, all while realizing substantial utility cost savings in its four school buildings. The district has contracted with Dallas-based TAC for an energy management package.
The package includes installation of districtwide computerized energy management system to improve climate control and occupant comfort, a complete lighting retrofit, and cooler and freezer monitors and alarms to prevent food spoilage. The company guarantees the package will lead to annual cost savings of almost $59,000.
