Paracomp has released a set of online labs for the Living Environment course for New York. Paracomp is the developer of Smart Science, a collection of Web-based instructional lab units for use in K-12 instruction.

According to information provided by Paracomp, the new lab suite comprises 21 individual labs, representing about 25 hours of hands-on lab work and 24 hours of virtual lab time. They include prerecorded experiments that students interact with via the Web; traditional hands-on experiments; and hybrid labs, combining both hands-on and pre-recorded experiments.

“Years of planning and work have gone into designing and developing a set of labs that will support the Regents requirements and provide a robust learning environment while saving time and money," said Harry Keller, president of Paracomp, in a statement released Wednesday evening. "They strongly support learning scientific reasoning and understanding the nature of science. Teachers with all levels of experience will find that these labs support success in their classrooms.”
