Houghton Mifflin Harcourt To Partner with Achieve3000 in North Carolina

Houghton Mifflin Harcourt has partnered with Achieve3000 to deliver individualized reading instruction to students in North Carolina.

The collaboration will bring together HMH's Holt McDougal Literature 2012 and Achieve3000's TeenBiz3000 and Empower3000.

Holt McDougal Literature 2012, available since January, is HMH's first Common Core State Standards-aligned literature anthology, and includes both a print and online textbook.

TeenBiz provides Lexile-based individual reading and writing instruction for students in grades 6 through 8. The online program distributes assignments to an entire class with each student receiving work adjusted to their reading level. TeenBiz also allows teachers to customize content and monitor student progress.

Empower is a similar program for students in grades 9 through 12. TeenBiz and Empower both also include a daily email feature that sends students strategies for increasing reading comprehension, fluency, vocabulary, and writing skills.
