Capture-HD Takes Lectures on the Road
Crestron has unveiled a high-definition device that can record and replay lectures anywhere through mobile device. It comes in two models.
Capture-HD lets presenters schedule, record, publish online, and watch lectures. It lets students and staff watch from anywhere, whether on laptop or iOS-based device.
The device is compatible with SD and HD analog and digital media devices, including computers, whiteboards, and annotators. Capture-HD records presentations in 1080p and saves in H.264 format. Recorded lectures include audio and full-screen video.
Presenters can use RoomView SE software to schedule the recording of any lecture or event ahead of time from a Crestron touch screen. RoomView lets presenters deliver recorded lectures through a variety of platforms: learning management systems (Blackboard, Moodle, and others), RSS feeds, iTunes U, Sharepoint, and other services.
Recorded media can be viewed through a Web interface, which includes a search engine and media player that are compatible with all Web browsers.
Two models of the device are available: Capture-HD, and Capture-HD-Pro, which has a 3G-SDI (3 Gbps) input to support SDI, HD-SKI, or 3G-SDI cameras. Capture-HD has a composite input for cameras with lower resolutions.
Further information can be found on Crestron's site.
