Upgraded MindPlay Virtual Reading Coach Comes With a Money-Back Guarantee

Literacy publisher MindPlay has introduced an upgraded version of MindPlay Virtual Reading Coach (MVRC), its reading curriculum for grades K-12. All stories within the Web-based MVRC are now assigned Lexile ratings by MetaMetrics. MindPlay's Lexile text complexity ratings are consistent with Common Core State Standards.

The program is now completely cloud-based and works on all computer platforms. MindPlay has added new reading instruction modules for Comprehension and Grammar as an aid to reading and writing. Additionally, there are new real-time reports and seven reading instructors instead of four. Instructors provide direct instruction through photos and videos.

MVRC is designed to help students improve their reading skills measurably in 40 hours or less by differentiating instruction for each student. Using direct instruction from reading specialists and speech pathologists, students can work at their own pace. According to MindPlay, the program is appropriate for special needs students, dyslexic students, struggling readers and intermediate to advanced English language learners.

Schools can purchase the program for $299 per student per year. (More purchase options are available.) MindPlay guarantees schools that 90 percent of students will gain at least two grade levels of improvement in reading when using MVRC four days a week for 30 minutes each day — or the company will refund their purchase.
