New Ethernet Controllers Now Available for Classroom AV Systems
Extron
Electronics has introduced a series of new Ethernet
controllers that should provide additional security and easy on/off
functions,
all designed to handle data delivered to projectors and AV systems in
the
classroom via the Internet.
The new MediaLink
Plus 50, 100 and 200 controllers are all
fully-configurable with beveled edges, rounded corners and backlit
buttons.
All five new models:
- Can manage, monitor and control AV
devices using a standard
Ethernet network;
- Are customizable using Global Configurator Plus or
Professional;
- Have a variety of ports for more flexibility;
- Come with Power over Ethernet that allows them to
receive and
control power over a single Ethernet cable;
- Support Ethernet-controllable devices;
- Support iPad room control; and
- Are Section 508-compliant.
The Plus 50 model has backlit up and down
volume
controls, and the 100 and 200 models also feature multi-function volume
knobs that
allow for more precise control of amplifiers. Magnetically-attached
faceplates
hide the mounting screws giving the controllers a more uncluttered
appearance.
The Plus 100 and 200 models are available in AAP
versions,
meaning they provide openings for up to four single-space Architectural
Adapter
Plates allowing for more connectivity possibilities.
"These simple pushbutton controllers are equally at
home in a
single-projector classroom or an advanced AV control system," said Casey
Hall,
Extron vice president of sales and marketing.
