CTL Introduces New Chromebook for Education

CTL's new Chromebook for education comes in two versions.CTL has partnered with Google to launch a new Chromebook for Education, which is available in two models, the CTL Chromebook J2 and the CTL Chromebook J4.

Both models are identical, except for the amount of RAM, with the J2 offering 2 gigabytes of RAM and the J4 offering 4 gigabytes. Otherwise, they both include the Quad Core ARM Cortex-A17 RK3288 processor made by Rockchip and a lightweight, rugged body designed for education environments.

Other key features of the CTL Chromebook for Education include:

  • Chrome operating system;
  • 11.6-inch anti-glare high definition display with 1,366 x 768 resolution;
  • 16 gigabytes of eMMC solid state storage, plus optional Google Drive cloud storage;
  • 1.3 megapixel webcam;
  • Wireless 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac dual band;
  • Bluetooth 4.0;
  • Single surface touchpad;
  • One HDMI 2.0 port, two USB 2.0 ports, one Micro SD slot, one 12-volt DC port and one 3.5 mm combo jack for microphone and headphone;
  • Two built-in 1.5 watt stereo speakers;
  • Weight of 2.46 pounds;
  • One-year warranty, or optional three-year warranty with accidental damage coverage; and
  • Optional White Glove provisioning and full-color logo painting.

The CTL Chromebook for Education includes one year of Securly content filtering and analysis, which lets educators and parents set automatic website and app filtering policies. Educators also have the option of bundling the devices with Chrome Device Management licenses, Hapara licenses and Pearson Education Software and eTextbooks.
