TechSmith Updates Camtasia with 2 New Apps

TechSmith has updated its video creation tool, Camtasia, with new companion apps and more.

The newest version, Camtasia 9.1 for Windows and 3.1 for Mac, adds a screen recording app for iOS 11 and an app, also for iOS 11, that allows users to put overlay effects on specified parts of a static image.

Other new features include:

  • Device framing, which allows users to instantly snap screen recordings or other media into a computer or other device screen to instantly see how videos, sites or apps look on a variety of devices;
  • The ability to import PowerPoint files;
  • Pre-packaged assets designed to be easily editable  to align with corporate branding or simply to save time; and
  • An improved extend frame for the Windows version.

The update is currently available for free to users of Camtasia Windows 9 and Camtasia Mac 3. Users with older versions can upgrade for $99.50 at shop.techsmith.com.
