Hoonuit Debuts Early Warning System for At-Risk Students

Hoonuit, a company that provides data analytics and professional development tools for educators, has launched an early warning tool designed to help improve student retention and graduation.

Using predictive analytics, Hoonuit Early Warning is designed to help identify at-risk students earlier, implement an intervention workflow and then track progress as it occurs. Progress tracking is available day-to-day, month-to-month or year-to-year.

Dashboards, designed to make actionable data easily accessible and easy to visualize for faster decision making, are available via mobile or desktop devices to help them fit better into educator workflows and the classroom.

"The Early Warning dashboards support powerful conversations among teachers and administrators," said Marcy Lauck, director of data governance for Santa Clara County Office of Education, in a prepared statement. "The ease of assigning students who are high risk in several domains — attendance and behavior, for example — to target intervention is a high leverage activity."
