Mentoring Minds Debuts Customizable Assessment Tool

This week at ISTE 2019 in Philadelphia, education publisher Mentoring Minds introduced Itematica, a tool for building and customizing classroom assessments.

Thanks to a partnership with Key Data Systems, Itematica's Living Item Bank offers educators a library of more than 100,000 assessment items across English/language arts, math, social studies and science. All items are written to align with standards such as Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS), Smarter Balanced Assessment Consortium (SBAC) and Partnership for Assessment of College and Careers (PARCC). Educators can use the Living Item Bank to create tests, develop customized reports and filter data for their specific needs, according to a news announcement.

Itematica assessments can be assigned in print or online. Print results can be captured using a scanner or a mobile device. The tool provides real-time data monitoring, to help educators evaluate students' progress toward standards mastery.

"We are thrilled to partner with Key Data Systems to offer educators this comprehensive and robust assessment tool," said Shad Madsen, CEO of Mentoring Minds, in a statement. "Each classroom is different and teachers need the ability to design assessments that address the learning needs of their students and the learning goals of their school and district."
