Oklahoma City Public Schools and TutorMe to Offer Free Tutoring for All Students

Online tutoring platform TutorMe and Oklahoma City Public Schools today announced an agreement to provide every K–12 student in the district with free access to TutorMe's 24/7 service for the remainder of the 2021-2022 school year.

TutorMe’s platform offers access to more than 15,000 tutors to help with over 300 subjects, through personalized one-on-one sessions in the app’s virtual classroom. The platform — accessed through the district’s online learning management tool — includes interactive features such as a text editor, code editor, two-way audio/video chat, screen sharing, and a virtual whiteboard for engaging and enriching education. Each session is archived and accessible later to the student as needed, TutorMe said in its announcement.

Oklahoma City Public Schools has about 34,000 students enrolled.

“Implementing TutorMe gives our students access to a vetted education professional tutor anytime they need help, in any subject, at their fingertips,” said Neal Kellogg, the district’s director of educational technology services. “This resource will be a game changer for OKCPS students, especially when students are working independently or in an asynchronous learning environment. OKCPS is proud to offer this high level of academic support to our students at no cost to our families and we encourage our students and families to take full advantage of what TutorMe has to offer."

TutorMe, a subsidiary of Zovio, is used by thousands of schools nationwide, providing free, on-demand tutoring expertise to over 1.5 million students. To learn more, visit TutorMe.com.
