Hawaii Schools Expand EdisonLearning Partnerships

##AUTHORSPLIT##<--->

EdisonLearning has announced an expanded partnership with Hawaii schools, nearly tripling the total number of schools served throughout the state.

According to the announcement, three years of success has led Hawaii's Department of Education to add 23 schools to the partnership, bringing the total number to 35 for the 2008-2009 school year. Since partnering with EdisonLearning in 2005, Hawaii schools implementing the program have seen an increase of 1,600 students at or above grade level in reading, and an additional 1,800 students at or above grade level in math, according to the company. Additionally, eight of the 12 schools currently working with EdisonLearning have met Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) requirements, as mandated by NCLB.

"We are looking forward to continued and expanded success with our EdisonLearning partnership," said Hawaii Complex Area Superintendent Ronn Nozoe, in a prepared statement. "EdisonLearning's high expectations for student learning, relentless commitment to building local capacity for improving classroom instruction, and the outstanding customer service provided by both the Hawaii-based and headquarter teams continue to exceed expectations."

According to EdisonLearning, over the last 17 years the company has grown its network to more than 100 partner schools in 23 states. The company serves over 350,000 students, providing frequent assessments, as well as "innovative teaching techniques" in order to boost student achievement in core curriculum areas.
