Knovation Introduces netTrekker Search Navigator Program

Knovation, a provider of personalized learning solutions, has launched its new netTrekker Search Navigator Program, a professional learning community for K-12 educators that supports the use of netTrekker Search for differentiated instruction for students.

netTrekker Search is an online tool that enables educators to search a library of over 330,000 standards-aligned digital educational resources from the web. The Navigator Program trains educators in using netTrekker Search to support differentiated learning and encourages them to share their knowledge with other educators.

Teachers can register for a four-hour, online course that teaches background knowledge on 21st century skills, information literacy, and how the online search tool can support differentiated learning. It also teaches how to support adult learners and provides guidance in planning a netTrekker Search workshop. Additionally, the program gives teachers access to the Know New Ideas online educator community.

Once they have completed the netTrekker Search Navigator Program course, teachers can work towards the next level in the program: Silver Level Navigator status, which requires teachers to conduct their own professional learning workshops over the course of a year. They are also encouraged to contribute to the online community through discussion forums, blog postings, and social media promotion.

Teachers who achieve Silver Level Navigator status will be entered to win an expense-paid trip to ISTE (International Society for Technology in Education) or another state conference geared toward education. They will also be invited to co-present a best practice webinar for other netTrekker Search users.

"The netTrekker Search Navigator Program is designed for educators interested in building their own personal learning networks as they collaborate with colleagues, both in school and out," said Lynn Ochs, director of professional learning for Knovation, in a statement. "By providing an opportunity for educators to develop skills and leadership around digital learning, this program will play a critical role in transforming classrooms to better meet the needs of today’s students."

Further information about the netTrekker Search Navigator Program is available on the netTrekker site.
