AAXA Rolls Out Sub-$1,000 Mini 4K Projector

AAXA Technologies, known for its micro and pico projectors, has launched a new 4K/ultra HD-resolution "mini projector" that comes in at less than a thousand bucks.

The new AAXA 4K1 offers a resolution of 3,840 x 2,160 pixels, a contrast ratio of 2,000:1 and a light output rating of 1,500 lumens. It's based around Texas Instruments' 4K MEMs imager and uses Osram Quadcast RGBB LEDs with Vibrant Color Technology. The LEDs have an estimated 30,000-hour life.

Other features include:

  • 1.2:1 throw ratio;
  • Dual 2-watt speakers;
  • 130 watt power consumption;
  • USB memory stick reader;
  • Micro SD/TF card reader;
  • Video inputs: Two HDMI 2.0 ports with HDCP 2.2 and composite (3.5mm) jack;
  • Audio output: 3.5mm stereo jack.

The mini projector measures 8.3" x 7.2" x 2.4" and weighs in at 3.8 lbs.
