LearnPlatform Launches Evidence Subscription Service to Help Ed Tech Providers Show ESSA Compliance

LearnPlatform today launched a subscription-based analytics solution called Evidence-as-a-Service to help ed tech providers and school districts better determine the impact of their digital learning platforms and to gather the necessary evidence to demonstrate compliance with Every Student Succeeds Act, the company announced.

Evidence-as-a-Service can help providers at any stage build evidence based on their product’s results and data to meet ESSA funding requirements for school districts and states, according to the news release.

“Each subscription aligns with one or more of the four levels of evidence outlined in ESSA to demonstrate rationale and identify and show promising, moderate, or strong evidence that their product positively impacts student outcomes,” the company said. “Whether a solution is for core curriculum, tutoring, learning loss, or another educational purpose, the Evidence-as-a-Service model provides a path to ESSA compliance in weeks, at a fraction of the cost of traditional models.”

“The adoption of technology is here to stay. Districts manage an average of over 1,400 ed tech products, and the numbers are not dropping this year,” said LearnPlatform Director of Research Mary Styers, Ph.D. “Knowing how these tools are working, in which situations, and for which students and teachers is a critical question every district leader is asking.”

LearnPlatform’s three subscription options are curated specifically to help all ed tech providers meet ESSA compliance and “build evidence-based interventions that empower districts and states to buy and use their products to drive student outcomes.”

Age of Learning, the company behind the widely used ABCmouse online learning program, used LearnPlatform to validate and evaluate its research for My Math Academy, an adaptive math program for young learners, and its newest offering, My Reading Academy, said Age of Learning Chief Innovation Officer Sunil Gunderia.

“We are partnering with LearnPlatform to develop a modernized approach to gathering evidence as it is an important element in validating the learning gains that our programs are designed to help students achieve,” Gunderia said in the news release. “This evidence is essential to assisting schools and districts in identifying solutions that will work in their specific contexts to deliver learning outcomes.”

Another early adopter of LearnPlatform’s capabilities is Nepris, a platform connecting career professionals with students through virtual meetings and exposing learners to various career and education paths.

“We have always known our platform increases student engagement in school and prepares students for the future of work, but outside third-party research was too expensive and no one read it,” said Sabari Raja, CEO and co-founder of Nepris. “With LearnPlatform, we found a fast, practical approach that helps our state and district partners have confidence in what we do – and what we will do together – to reach their goals.”
