UPS Line Protects Internet Users

BC Internet products are uninterruptable power supply (UPS) systems designed expressly for the user at home or small workgroups who spend a great deal of time on the Internet. Three sizes are offered: 325, 450 and 675VA. These compact units are upright cabinets, equipped with RJ-style phone jacks to supply surge protection for a connected modem or other communications device, as well as AC surge, spike and line noise filtering for the connected computer. During brownout or overvoltage conditions, the UPS transfers to battery power; it also has self-testing, and low-battery warning features. "Plug and play" installation and full compatibility with Windows 95 are standard. SRPs start at $179. Tripp Lite, Chicago, IL, (312) 755-5400.
