Use the Internet for Long-Distance Calls

With WebTalk, a PC can be used just like a telephone for two-way voice conversations. The product supports full-duplex (two-way, real-time) transmission; its internal VOX technology works with half-duplex sound cards to emulate full-duplex quality.

The WebTalk Server Network provides a directory of other online callers and lists Virtual Meeting Places where people can find callers with common interests.

The software works over an ordinary phone line. A 16-bit sound card, speakers and microphone, and 14.4 or faster modem are required. Quarterdeck Corp., Marina del Rey, CA, (310) 309-4210, www.quarterdeck.com/. B
