Firms Collaborate On Technical CDs

CRC Press and Waterloo Maple have formed a new partnership that will launch a generation of software combining the technical contents of CRC handbooks with Waterloo Maple's mathematical and visualization algorithms. The first set of products will be the CrcCD Series of interactive electronic reference tools for engineering, science and mathematics. With technology developed by Waterloo Maple, users can customize formulae and equations, manipulate tables and solve problems specific to their application. The CrcCD edition of the Standard Mathematical and Formulae, demonstrated at the American Mathematics Society conference in January, will be released this fall. Future titles include Chemistry and Physics, Electrical Engineering and Combinatorial Design. All CrcCD titles will exploit highly specialized software tools such as MathDoc, TableDoc, GraphDoc and ChemDoc. Waterloo Maple, Inc., Waterloo, Ontario, Canada, (800) 267-6583, www. maplesoft.com.
