Monitors Accept Touch, Pen Input

TouchPen Monitors combine MicroTouch's advanced TouchPen technology with high-resolution 15- and 17-inch Mitsubishi Diamond Scan CRT displays. The monitors accept input from both a finger and a pen -- and can distinguish one from the other. As a result, students can take tests via the touchscreen and then sign their name with the stylus. The TouchPen family provides a touch resolution of 1024 x 1024 in finger mode and 2048 x 2048 in pen mode. Both modes provide a conversion speed of 270 touch points per second, and only require a minimum contact of 3ms to detect a touchdown. As part of the firm's Ready-to-Ship program, initial orders are shipped within 24 hours. MicroTouch Systems, Methuen, MA, (800) MICROTOUCH. www.microtouch.com.
