New GUI Enhances Administrative Pkgs.

Gateway Software has developed a new Graphical User Interface (GUI) for their complete line of school administrative products, including their Library Management System (LMS). The firm designs software exclusively for the IBM AS/400 midrange computer. Unlike systems that employ a modular approach, LMS offers circulation, cataloging, union catalog, interlibrary loan, inventory and reporting functions in one seamless package. Like the LMS, Gateway's Media Booking System and Textbook Management System provide a centralized solution for control of multimedia and textbook inventory respectively. Another product, the Distribution Management System supports ordering and receiving, bidding, online requisitions, and facilities and vehicle fleet maintenance. The new Windows-based GUI for all these packages delivers a transparent transition from familiar PC applications to the AS/400. Gateway Software Corp., Fromberg, MT, (800) 735-3637, www.gscweb.com.
