Electronic "Field Trip" to Air on Regular TV

An electronic field trip will air live, on regular television (TBS Superstation) on April 3 and 4, from 1-2 p.m. (ET), sponsored by Turner Learning. Called "Virus Encounters," this two-day interactive event will take students to the Center for Disease Control in Atlanta and cover what causes illnesses and what cures them. Students will be able to talk to people who have survived epidemics and also perform microscopic experiments.

Like other Turner Learning trips, "Virus Encounters" combines an hour-long preview program; live, on-site telecasts for two consecutive days; and online forums for students to communicate with experts before, during and after the event.

Schools may also purchase an optional Learning Kit that contains supplemental materials and allows unlimited taping rights. Turner Learning, Inc., Atlanta, GA, (800) 639-7797, www.turner.com/tesi.
