Perform a Virtual Frog Dissection

BioLab (Frog, from Pierian Spring Software, will be the first in a series of interactive, realistic simulations intended to supplement, replace or simply help review the live dissection lab. As students explore external features and internal systems of a frog, they sharpen critical thinking skills while they investigate, collect, graph and interpret data.

All the necessary pre-lab data, system functions, structures and locations of parts are given to students, to help them explore the external mouth, digestive, circulatory, reproductive and skeletal systems. Four mini-labs are included with BioLab(Frog, which sells for around $50 for a single-user license. Pierian Spring Software, Portland, OR, (800) 472-8578, www.pierian.com.
