Tandy Recognizes 200 Instructors & Students

Two hundred outstanding teachers and students were recognized by Tandy Corp. and RadioShack for their achievements in the areas of science, computer science and math. This yearís Tandy Technology Scholars program awarded $2,500 to 100 teachers and $1,000 scholarships to 100 students. Recipients were also featured in an advertisement in Time magazine.

To date, Tandy has awarded nearly $3 million in cash and scholarships to 1,600 teachers and students. Since 1990, school participation in the program has more than doubled. A National Advisory Council of distinguished educators approved a rigorous selection process for Technology Scholars.
