Hi-Ed Institutions License PeopleSoft Applications

Since January, over 20 colleges and universities have licensed enterprise applications from PeopleSoft, which offers finance, student administration and human resources products tailored for the higher education market.

Recent customers include North Carolina State University, Northeastern University in Massachusetts, Metropolitan Community Colleges in Missouri, Catholic University of America in the District of Columbia and Boise State University in Idaho.

Catholic University selected PeopleSoft Financials to improve procurement and reporting processes. "PeopleSoft will streamline our purchasing procedures with workflow and online requisitioning, and enable decision makers throughout the campus community to obtain more timely and accurate financial reports," said Ralph Beaudoin, vice president for finance.

This summer, eight institutions licensed the initial release of PeopleSoft Student Administration, a suite of six applications: Campus Community, Student Records, Academic Advisement, Financial Aid, Admissions and Recruitment, and Student Financials. The software was developed with two years of input from beta testers, including Cornell University, the Houston Community College District, James Madison University and Northern Arizona University. PeopleSoft Student Administration, scheduled for final release this quarter, can be integrated with other PeopleSoft products for a total campus solution. In addition, the firm operates a dedicated consulting organization for higher education -- PeopleSoft Professional Services. PeopleSoft, Inc., Pleasanton, CA, (510) 225-3000, www.peoplesoft.com.
