New raster image processing software (RIP) from Onyx Graphics Corp. will drive ColorSpan Corp.’s DisplayMaker Series XII high speed inkjet printers. The RIP, available through Onyx’s PosterShop family of products, will support the DisplayMaker Series XII family of 12-color products. PosterShop is a production-oriented software system for printing to large format digital color printers. It is a multi-tasking software product, enabling users to preview, RIP and print files simultaneously. The DisplayMaker Series XII printers include 12 600-dpi printheads for high speed, color and apparent resolution. With Gamut+ Variable Mode Printing, users can increase the apparent resolution up to 1,800 dpi, or load three sets of inks and print at speeds up to 240 sq. feet per hour.
