EduHound is a prescreened database directory of more than 30,000 K-12 educational links. The directory helps teachers find educational Web sites, resources, lesson plans, libraries, Web quests, references, and adult continuing education materials.



This site, created by founding members of The Learning Company, aims to provide non-native English speakers with convenient, affordable access to effective English language instruction. The service combines expert instruction with state-of-the-art technologies like voice recognition.



This site invites visitors to learn about, participate in, and contribute to the rich tapestry of Black history. Teachers and students will find it easy to navigate through the site, which offers a forum for people to share their experiences, stories and thoughts. Hints and tools show teachers how to help their students prepare their own stories and pictures for placement on the site.



At Virtual Job Shadowing, students can check out career options online, viewing “a day in the life” of Virtual Career Mentors in many fields.



Figure This! Challenges for Families are designed to encourage families to do mathematics with their 10 to 14-year-old children in the after school hours. The rigorous, enjoyable challenges illustrate the high-quality mathematics that middle school students need to know to complete math courses essential for future success. A number of educational organizations contributed to the site’s development.



Animal Diversity Web is a database of animal species hosted by the University of Michigan. It offers thorough information about the structure and classification of animals, basic concepts of ecology and evolutionary biology, and special reports on dozens of species.
