Epson Expression 1600

Expression 1600 graphics scanner from Epson offers IEEE 1394/FireWire connectivity, for high resolution and fast scanning speeds. With its FireWire connection, the scanner offers increased speed, versatility and convenience, with data transfer rates up to 400MB per second. Up to 63 devices can be daisy chained without additional hardware. In addition, FireWire offers hot-pluggable connectivity, which allows users to add and remove devices without having to reboot each time.

The scanner is available in four cross-platform software configurations for specialized applications. All configurations achieve 1600 x 3200 dpi true hardware resolution, and feature a custom engineered imaging system for sharp detail and color accuracy. The Expression 1600 has a high dynamic range to capture greater detail in highlight and shadow areas for such uses as scanning film negatives and transparencies. A dual-focus mechanism lets you change the focal distance to 2.5 mm above the glass scan bed, eliminating light refraction. Additionally, the Expression 1600 uses a Xenon cold cathode fluorescent lamp to provide a high-intensity light source. The scanner is instantly ready to scan without warm-up time.
