Follett Software Company introduces Intranet search consolidation technology into its online public access catalog software. This search feature permits students to search various information sources simultaneously while using one common interface, which eliminates the need to learn different search methods for each database. Users may  decide which resources to include in a search, and may view one set of results from the combined searches.




AskMe.com is teaming up with FreeScholarships.com to provide users with opportunities to ask person-to-person questions and to receive answers free of charge from more than 33,000 experts in categories such as finance, education, careers and internships. Visitors to either site can access this service, and are able to ask follow-up questions, rate the answer, and automatically store received answers.





Grolier Educational, a multi-reference Web site that links users to encyclopedias, dictionaries and thesauri, has added three Houghton Mifflin dictionaries and two thesauri to its collection. The site already includes access to information under categories of encyclopedias, The New Book of Knowledge Online, the New Book of Popular Science and Nueva Enciclopedia Cumbre en Linea, a Spanish-language encyclopedia.
