The player also features a video blackboard component that allows teachers to highlight specific information with a mouse and to place graphics over important elements on the video being shown. The RS-232C interface permits a keyboard and mouse to be connected directly to the front of the DVD-Video player. Using a mouse and keyboard, students and teachers can draw or place graphics and text atop video on the classroom monitor without permanently altering the information on the disc. Its durability makes it a good fit in the classroom, and Pioneer’s educational Web site, at www.tools4teachers.com, strives to assist teachers with classroom use of DVD technology.
