Microtek's Artix-Scan 6000XY

From Microtek comes the Artix-Scan 6000XY color flatbed scanner, with a 6,000 maximum dpi resolution and 42-bit color depth. It features a high dynamic range and a CCD sensor to produce a wide tonal spectrum of color data. The XY mechanism of the unit captures high-resolution scans over the entire scanning bed. Scannable items include film, three-dimensional objects, and reflective originals ranging in size from a small postage stamp to a 12" x 17" original image. The XY mechanism also allows for a range of enlargement options. The unit comes with software that includes batch scan templates for standard film sizes and customizable templates for unusual sizes. The unit also includes Kodak Q60 reflective and transparency calibration targets.

The Included ColorQuartet software features auto stitching for originals larger than 4" wide, as well as a full palette of color control and high-level color reproduction and color correction tools. Users can automatically adjust images' highlight and shadow points to optimal levels, or make manual adjustments using a variety of interactive tools.
