Seussville Blends Fun With Reading Education

Seussville (www.seussville.com) is a free highly entertaining site that blends fun with reading education. Featuring activities for students ranging from preschool to third grade, the site is divided into four main sections: a playground filled with interactive computer and print-and-play games; a biography area about Dr. Seuss (Theodor Seuss Geisel); a catalog where educators and parents can order Dr. Seuss materials, including books and videos; and an area that lists upcoming Dr. Seuss events.

The colorful "Playground" will interest students the most, offering a variety of games that highlight characters from the Dr. Seuss books for different age levels. Younger students can play a memory game, "One Fish, Two Fish Concentration," or "Sam I Am Says," which encourages reading comprehension. Older students can compose their own stories in the "Seussville Storymaker," a fun area that uses favorite Seuss characters and allows students to choose their own dialogue and story settings. The site is also filled with numerous print-and-play activities like coloring pages, connect-the-dots and sticker makers. Seussville, www.seussville.com.
