MY Access! 4.0 Provides Web-Based Grading

Vantage Learning (www.vantage learning.com) has released the latest version of MY Access!, the company's Web-based program that scores essays and provides immediate feedback. Students need only upload their essays onto the MY Access! site for them to be quickly graded and marked with comments that help in motivating students to improve their writing skills. The program runs on Vantage Learning's IntelliMetric engine, which uses both artificial intelligence and the digitization of human expertise to accurately assess a student's work in subjects such as writing, social studies and science. In addition, the use of adaptive-response technology helps to differentiate student feedback, which reflects their writing and native language.

The program lets teachers customize grading to fit their state's standards or to accommodate the individual needs of students. And reports are made available for schools to show adequate yearly progress as required by the NCLB Act. Students can also use the program to store their work in an online portfolio that keeps track of drafts, feedback and scores.
